For Mark A. Kadzielski ’68, giving back to 糖心logo在线入口 means investing in the next generation of healthcare leaders.
A nationally recognized healthcare attorney and proud 糖心logo在线入口 alumnus, Kadzielski has established two inaugural awards to celebrate excellence in the University’s College of Health—one honoring faculty teaching and mentorship, and another recognizing an outstanding senior nursing student.
The Mark A. Kadzielski ’68 Faculty Award for Teaching Excellence will honor a full-time faculty member who demonstrates exceptional dedication to students through teaching, advising, and leadership. A companion award will recognize a distinguished senior nursing student whose work exemplifies the College’s mission of compassionate care and ethical leadership.
Both awards will debut at the Health Professions Summit in April 2026, marking a milestone for the College of Health, one of 糖心logo在线入口’s newest and fastest-growing academic divisions.
“I wanted to recognize the importance of education in providing a foundation for the achievement of excellence in healthcare. Dr. Cole and her staff have made significant strides in a short period of time through staffing, building academic programming and increasing enrollment. It is fitting the College of Health will join the other 糖心logo在线入口 Colleges with this inaugural faculty and student award.”
A Gift Strengthening a New College
Dean Melissa Cole, DNP, APRN, ANP-BC, said the gift highlights growing support for the College of Health and its mission to prepare ethical, compassionate professionals for the evolving healthcare landscape.
“We are deeply grateful to Mark for his generosity and vision,” Cole said. “These awards celebrate the partnership between faculty and students that defines Jesuit higher education. They reflect the excellence and care that drive everything we do in the College of Health.”
The College, founded in 2023, unites programs in nursing, exercise science, and public health, preparing students for meaningful careers in service to others.
A Lifelong Commitment to Jesuit Values
A Cleveland native now based in Los Angeles, Kadzielski has spent more than five decades representing healthcare providers across the country. His career reflects the Jesuit value of men and women for others: he was recognized for 20 years of pro bono legal service to the Community Clinic Association of Los Angeles County and currently serves on the Providence Holy Cross Medical Center Foundation Board of Directors.
Beyond his legal career, Kadzielski has been a lifelong advocate for Jesuit education. He served as President of Alpha Sigma Nu, the Honor Society of Jesuit Colleges and Universities, and founded the Saint Ignatius High School President’s Visiting Committee, which he chaired for more than a decade.
The College of Health is now accepting nominations for the inaugural Mark A. Kadzielski ’68 Faculty Award for Teaching Excellence.
