How to Apply

To apply as an international student, follow the same application process as first-year or transfer students, with a few additional requirements.

Transcript Evaluation

Many students who have attended a high school or college outside of the U.S. must have their foreign transcripts evaluated by a third-party service approved by the American Association of College Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO). The evaluation must include a general assessment and calculate a cumulative grade point average (GPA) for all international transcripts.

School Report and/or Counselor Recommendation

On your application, you should submit the Common Application School Report or Counselor Recommendation, including the school's grading scale.

Official Standardized Test Score

Non-U.S. citizens who currently attend or recently attended a school outside of the U.S. must submit results from one or more of the following standardized tests:

  • TOEFL: Preferred minimum scores – 550 (paper-based) or 79 (Internet-based)
  • IELTS: Preferred minimum score – 6.5
  • SAT: 50th percentile – 1290
  • ACT: 50th percentile composite – 28

Test scores must be sent directly from the testing agency or a certified school official.

Applicants who do not meet our preferred minimum testing requirements may be asked to complete an additional in-person or Zoom interview for admission consideration.
