Pathway to Licensure
Our program meets the academic requirements for the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board for the licenses of Professional Counselor and Professional Clinical Counselor, as well as the National Counselor Certification.
Flexible Format and Schedule
Complete the program in as few as 2.5 years. Take a combination of on-campus, online, and hybrid courses.
Three Semesters of Fieldwork
Gain more than 700 hours of experience in the field at one of the region’s premier mental health treatment centers.

Choose a concentration area that aligns with your professional goals, such as Substance Use Disorders, Applied Behavioral Analysis, or School-Based Counseling.

Program Overview & Outcomes
In our CACREP-accredited master’s program, you will receive in-depth classroom and clinical training as you prepare for professional licensure. Throughout your coursework and fieldwork, you will learn to:
- Identify as a clinical behavioral health counselor who is knowledgeable about the history and development of the profession, is aware of the challenges facing the profession, and prepare to advocate for the profession
- Assess, evaluate, and diagnose clients using assessment instruments and the DSM
- Determine, develop, and implement appropriate treatment plans and interventions for clients
To apply to the Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at 糖心logo在线入口, you need:
- An undergraduate degree in a recognized area from an accredited institution
- An undergraduate cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
The following documents are required for a complete application:
- Online application
- Official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended
- Resume/CV, which includes work and volunteer experience
- Two letter(s) of recommendation
- Statement of purpose - in 400-600 words, explain your career objectives and goals
- Faculty interview
Applicants are admitted on a rolling basis.
However, for best consideration, applications for specific terms should be received by the following dates:
- August 1: For a Fall semester start
- December 1: For a Spring semester start
- February 15: For Graduate or Athletic Assistant positions (fall semester start)
- April 1: For a summer semester start
